HARGEI is dedicated to advancing girl-child education, promoting health awareness, and empowering communities through sustainable development initiatives. Together, we are building a future where every girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive.

Our Focus Areas

Health

Health focuses on improving access to quality healthcare services, disease prevention, and timely treatment. It includes strengthening primary healthcare systems, immunization, maternal and child health services, and public health awareness to reduce preventable illnesses and improve life expectancy.

Gender

Gender promotes equality and fairness between males and females in access to opportunities, resources, and decision-making. It addresses gender-based discrimination, supports women and girls’ empowerment, and ensures inclusive participation in social, economic, and political life.

Nutrition

Nutrition deals with ensuring individuals have access to balanced and sufficient diets for healthy growth and development. It targets malnutrition issues such as stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies, especially among children, pregnant women, and vulnerable groups.

Education

Education focuses on improving access to quality learning opportunities for all. It includes strengthening basic education, improving teacher capacity, enhancing learning infrastructure, and promoting skills development for personal and national development.

Community Engagement / Social Mobilization

This involves actively involving communities in planning and implementing development programs. It builds awareness, encourages participation, strengthens local ownership, and ensures that interventions reflect the real needs of the people.

Environmental Hygiene and Sanitation

This area focuses on promoting clean environments and proper waste management to prevent diseases. It includes safe water practices, sanitation facilities, hygiene education, and environmental cleanliness to reduce the spread of infections and improve public health.

Program Impact Note

Since inception, HARGEI has implemented over 17 impactful projects across Jigawa State, partnering with organizations such as Save the Children International, Society for Family Health (SFH), NACA, CDD Nigeria, ACOMIN, and M4D. Together with our partners and communities, we continue to work toward a future where every girl is educated, every woman is empowered, and every community is healthy.
